Privacy Policy

Face Shape AI ("the App") is published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App.
1. Data We Collect
The App collects the following data to provide its core functionality:
- Photos: When you take or select a selfie, the image is processed and sent to our AI service for face analysis. See Section 2 for full details on how face data is handled.
- Analysis results: Face shape classifications, scores, reasoning, and recommendations are stored locally on your device.
- Preferences: App settings (such as theme preference) are stored locally on your device.
- Purchase information: Subscription status is managed through Apple's App Store and stored locally for feature access.
2. Face Data
This section explains how the App handles your face photos.
What we collect: The App captures or receives a selfie photo from your camera or photo library. This photo contains your facial image.
How we process it: Before your photo leaves your device, we:
- Strip all EXIF metadata (location, camera info, timestamps)
- Resize the image to a maximum of 1920 pixels
- Compress the image to under 2MB
Where it is sent: Your processed photo is transmitted via HTTPS encryption to our backend server, which forwards it to Replicate, a third-party AI inference service, for analysis by a vision language model. Replicate acts as a data processor on our behalf.
What Replicate does: Replicate processes your photo in real-time to generate a text-based analysis (face shape classification, beauty score, symmetry analysis, golden ratio analysis, celebrity match, or skin undertone). Replicate does not use your photos to train AI models. For Replicate's data handling practices, see Replicate's Privacy Policy.
Storage and retention: Your photo is NOT stored on our servers or on Replicate's servers after analysis is complete. The photo is transmitted, analyzed, and discarded in a single request. Only the text-based analysis results are returned and stored locally on your device.
What we do NOT collect: The App does not collect facial geometry, biometric identifiers, Face ID data, or any data that could be used to uniquely identify you biometrically. The App performs visual analysis only and does not create facial recognition templates.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Replicate (replicate.com): Processes face photos for AI analysis. Photos are sent in real-time and not retained after processing. See Section 2 for details.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: Manages premium subscriptions and purchases. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Google AdMob (free tier only): Displays advertisements to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers for ad personalization. See Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Analysis results and preferences are stored in a local database on your device.
- Photos are transmitted using HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Our backend API uses API key authentication and rate limiting.
- We do not maintain a database of user photos or facial data on any server.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Your face photo is shared only with Replicate for the sole purpose of providing AI analysis, as described in Section 2. No other third party receives your photos. Anonymized, aggregated usage data (such as analysis counts) may be used to improve the App.
6. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete individual analysis results from within the App
- Clear all data using the "Clear All Data" option in Settings
- Request data deletion by contacting us at privacy@bulpara.com
- Since photos are not stored on our servers, there is no server-side photo data to delete
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for users under the age of 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
